Snow day fun

Things are going well. The other day during one of our many snow days, I made a huge pot of soup. We invited my parents and my grandma over for dinner. It was so fun. I love the fact that Arianna gets to know my grandma. Here is a picture of my dad and grandma reading Arianna a book

Another fun thing we did on our snow day was take Arianna to the local mall where there is a large play area. She LOVED playing on everything. We thought it would really tire her out so she would take a good nap for us...and if she took a good nap, we could nap too (hidden agenda to all parents!) Obviously, it did it's trick...

Lately, Arianna has loved watching Micky Mouse Clubhouse on TV. She really only likes the last minute with the song "Hot Dog, Hot Dog, Hot Diggity Dog" and she dances around the living room...this is what I could catch on video

so sleepy...

Yesterday was my first day back to daycare in quite a while. Arianna had not been to daycare since January 30th...with vacations and snow days it's been a long time since she's seen her friends at daycare. She was so exicted to get there yesterday, it was like I wasn't even there. Miss Kathy told me that she played all morning long and did not stop. She got very tuckered out...this is what happened at lunch. I thought these pictures were very funny. Hopefully you enjoy them too. We just got our new camera, so I'll be posting new pictures soon.

AHHHH

So, Arianna has been up for the last two nights...finally I decided that she needed to see the doctor. Guess what...you're right. Double ear infection AGAIN! So, she's on some stronger medications, we have to go back in 3 weeks to talk about a referral to the ENT. Actually we've been kind of lucky with the timing of this sickness, both Jason and I have had snow days. There is so much stinkin' snow. I hate snow. The only good thing about snow...eventually it melts. As you can tell, I'm a little crabby. No sleep and lots of snow. So, I'm asking for prayers. Pray that Arianna starts to feel better on this medication. Pray that we can get a referral to an ENT and that if she needs tubes, it can be done quickly so she can stop having ear infections. Hope you're all doing well and sleeping! :)

Finally, pictures!

Sorry this has taken so long. Our camera keeps dying. I did mangae to get a few pictures and videos. Hope you enjoy! Arianna has taken a liking to dressing up. She tries to put my shoes and jewelry on. She also loves wearing Jason's hat. It's so cute. And, there's a picture of her, butt up on the air showing off her GAP sweats. I just thought...holy cow, I wish I were that flexible...

On to videos. We've been working on her animal sounds. She usually can do cow, kitty, doggie, snake and monkey. She also knows where her eyes are. However, this is IMPOSSIBLE to catch on tape. I did mangage to get a few.

This next video is of her laughing. She is super tickleish...is that a word?! Anyway, her laughter makes me laugh, hopefully it will bring a smile to your face as well.

Snow Day

Well, both Jason and I had a snow day yesterday. It was so nice to both be home. Arianna loved having both daddy and mommy home...she just ran around all day. She was so excited, she decided not to nap. :) In reality, she's not napping or sleeping well lately because she's getting 5 teeth. Yes, you read that correctly, 5 teeth. All four of her molars and one other tooth. The doctor perscribed some great numbing gel, which she loves, but it does wear off eventually and then she wakes up. Also, this week and next week are a little crazy for her because our daycare lady is out of town. So, she's being bumped around from one place to the next...please pray that she adjusts well. Hope you're all doing well and staying warm. I'll post pictures soon, our camera is acting rather funky, so we'll have to work on that.

Way

I've just started reading Rob Bell's book Velvet Elvis, and there is a section called "Way". It's all about as Christians, we are all trying to live a certain way. The way that Jesus taught us to live. Bell came up with a few "I am convinced" statements that help him live a life in the way of Christ. It got me thinking, there is so much more to living a life of a Christian than just claiming being a Christian. Obviously, this isn't new thinking. We all know that, but sometimes it's so hard to live that life...in the way. So, I decided to come up with few of my own I'm convinced statements that I am going to strive to live by. Please...feel free to comment and add your own. Think of what could be started, if we all actually LIVED IN THE WAY OF CHRIST. Amazing...
  1. I am convinced that God wants us to be happy with who we are, and loving myself is a better way to live.
  2. I am convinced that being honest is the best way to be.
  3. I am convinced that being nice is a better way to live.
  4. I am convinced that seriously praying about all things is a better way to live.
  5. I am convinced that forgiveness is something to be given rather than carrying around bitterness and hatred and this is a better way to live.

These may not all be grammatically correct, but hopefully you all get the point. My hope and prayer for this entry is to get you all thinking of how Christ wants us to live. What way are you going to live today?

One Year Update

Arianna just had her one year check up. She's doing great. The doctor said that she was perfect...except for ANOTHER ear infection. Both ears, AGAIN! AHHHHHHHHHH! It's frustrating because they say that she is not a candidate for tubes, but she has all these infections and I don't even know it. I'm mostly concerned with her hearing and I am worried that she has grown accustomed to the pain. I'm going to start pushing to see and ENT Doctor and get her checked out. She also has a blocked tear duct, but I think that's getting better on it's own. She's growing like a weed. She weighed 22 pounds and was 33 inches long. She is in the 50th percentile for both. I'm also back to work full time. She didn't seem to mind and really missed her friends from daycare. When I got there, I put her down, she waved bye-bye and blew me a kiss and took off. While that is a relief, it's still sad...I miss being with her. No other big news. Jason's basketball team is doing well. 6-2 so far this season. Hope you're all doing well!
